Help Edmund Shillabeer and Dwayne to carry the Olympic torch for 2012 

 

There will be a torchbearer nomination process, expected to be announced in May 2011, giving people across the UK the chance to be involved in this historic countdown to the start of the London 2012 Games. Sebastian Coe, the chairman of London 2012, said: “The Olympic Torch Relay heralds the start of the London 2012 Games, bringing people across the UK together to celebrate the spirit of the Games." The London 2012 Torch Relay will connect people and places; young people to sport and the UK to the rest of the world.  londonolympics-2012.net

The torch relay will help with the 2012 legacy, by bringing the Olympics to within 1 hour of 95% of the UK population. It will help the London 2012 Olympic Legacy by getting school children, local celebrities and local people involved.

 
The Chara Challenge
Dwayne Fields has successfully completed the 2010 Chara challenge, crossing the finish line in twelveth place and said ''I bet none of the 250 starters thought it would be as painful as it was''. Dwayne came in just after Edmund Shillabeer who took the 11th spot. Dwayne set a time of 9h:04m:19s over the course of the thirty mile race.

What is next?
When asked Dwayne indicated that his next planned treck will see him reach the South pole, which is in the calender for November 2012.

Dwayne has adopted a Musk Ox from North Pole and he named him Henry.
